Wood, nobody thinks much what wood is. We can see them everywhere, along the street, in the yard, on mountainside, along the river edge. Almost all plants have their body. That is wood. However, some have no wood such as banana, peanut, even papaya.
There are many kinds of wood, pine, mahogany, teak, and so on. They absolutely keep their own beneficial for our life. We take roof so strong with coconut wood. We make strong building with wood.
Each of wood has differences in color, line of wood, level of strength concerning weather and insect, and other aspects. Teak is a highest quality that is used to make furniture. To make furniture we can divide teak into recycled teak and new teak. Recycled teak is stronger than new teak. Recycled teak looks brown with little black. It usually has a good line’s wood. It’s great if recycled teak furniture we touch with natural finishing. That product is especially to serve high market.
Mahogany has little red with straight line. It’s good to make furniture but not strong enough for insect. Most of company use mahogany in making furniture to be sent in many containers or big order because price of mahogany is cheaper than teak. It’s usually to serve middle market. Pine is also used in making furniture especially for modern furniture. It has white color with little yellow color, but it has bad appearance because of many black points. We can also make furniture from coconut wood, but it is usually for handicraft. It has big straight line and strong.
We use teakwood for the pillars, doors, window’s frame, benches, tables, chairs, and so on. We can make floor with teakwood. We also take another kind of wood to floor our house such as bangkirai, kamper from Borneo Island. It will look nice. It’s also cool and even warm. People put pine, mahogany and teak in developing furniture.
It is amazing that we have a unique plant named bamboo. We can’t say it is wood or not wood. But they are really useful for us. It is not impossible to have a set of dining table complete with dining chairs made of bamboo. With bamboo slices we can make wall, garbage basket, tray roof, plant stand, gate and many others.
People make many kinds of handicraft such as picture frames, traditional fans, vases, pencil boxes and sell them in good price. This time many foreigners take interest and pay attention to have them and sell those attractive things in their countries.
